That's my point, the Labs of 40 year ago that I am remembering were far heavier than you see now.

This is the trouble with getting a Chessie purely for its build.

I try not to buy anything French (Fkrs chucked Welsh lamb into a dock). I do have to admit that over the past 40+ years of shooting/hunting I have not found a pocket knife better than an Opinel! Not had one without the collar but no doubt the same quality blade.

I have an old PES on mine which uses the barrel as the inner core. It's a bit dirty but as it never stays on there's no problems. As said above they a easily moderated and any centerfire mod will do. 👍
