The finest brass I have ever loaded from Europe is DWM 8X60S. Primer pockets were very snug and I suspect would last many loadings. Now that being said if you have access to IMI (Israeli Military Industries) I suspect their brass would be excellent as their 7.62 is loaded on a line that came...
The 8x60 that belonged to my friend was the same way. Caliber not marked anywhere. If I am offered it at a good price I will try to get it just because it was his and I have so much history with that rifle and as well I have the loading dies for it.
I guess who started the tight barrel was the Canadians. Least ways that is the first I heard of them. I was on the 82 Palma Team and we went to Canada and we were told that their bores were tighter than ours and that gave them more velocity and uniformed their bullet diameters as their bullet...
If you do a step load correctly you should be able to determine the best loads for your rifle and do it in 20 rounds.
Woodsmoke, any centerfire rifle will launch a bullet and make kit to 1000 yards. The problem is not only hitting the target but keeping your shots in the middle of the target...
Evidently the Acetone you have in Britain is not the same Acetone we have here:
I was out in my loading room and spotted this and thought yawl might want to know why I don't use acetone. You can enlarge image to read all there is on the back. Maybe if we can get some politicians to drink...
I have a number of Douglas barrels and also Obermeyer who makes barrels with tight bores. I have a 308 barrel that is .298"X3055" with 13.8" twist barrel and it shoots very well. About all my Douglas barrels are 5A contours so they can be set back easily.
MTLEADFARMER you can only rebarrel the...
Whatever you use do it just as soon as you fire your last shot. When propellant burns it forms carbon residue which you can see in your bore which hardens up when it cools off. The hardest substance known to man is carbon. The quicker you get it out of your barrel the easier it is to clean.
Unless something has changed I believe you are going to find the seating resistance of the primers being seated is going to feel much looser on the 2nd reload. If you keep loading them with progressively larger primer pockets you will get gas leakage around the edge of the primers and see a...
Yep graphite is a lubricant in moisture and a abrasive when there is none, thus that is why if you get your brakes wet you can't stop. They put it in brake shoes. As a result that is why aluminum wheel rims now come coated with plastic to stop them from corroding.
Thought it looked like a target rear aperture. I have a lot of time looking through target apertures and Central Sights
My side mount is right side as I shoot left handed so carry in muzzle down position on right shoulder. Yep the bolt handle lets you know you did not leave it home! ! ! ...
Looks good. On the bolt gun is that a iron sight on the back of the bolt?

The above are pricey but allow for handgun scopes on...
I just spent over an hour writing up the info on the above and got cut off so below is a copy / paste of what I put in.
Final configuration with action painted with Sandstrom 28A. Carried this rifle year round holding action area with sweaty hands with no wear and no rust. I also carry two 5...
NC STAR HANDGUN SCOPES, they come in 2.5X and 2-7X. Do a ebay search for them. Both $50.00 or less US dollars. I have also mounted other handgun scopes on rifles by Bushnell, etc.
Why handgun scopes? They have long eye relief and being a handgun scope they have to be built extra sturdy...
