  1. Ruger 10/22 what to look out for

I've had a few over the years and never had one that jammed. Maybe mine were the exception?
  2. Ruger 10/22 what to look out for

The Ruger 10/22 meets certain expectations. As long as we realise that, happiness will follow. My favourite plinker and short range rabbit rifle.
  3. Ruger 10/22 what to look out for

I'm glad you are alert to my slant. I've had several because I like them. I really like shooting the 10/22, BUT, it isn't consistently an accurate rifle out of the box, so if that's what you value it will not satisfy.
  4. Which calibre lever action?

Savage 99 in .243. The only way to go. Any bullet you want,, any load, as fast as you can work that lever.
  5. Ruger 10/22 what to look out for

Yes; they don't shoot straight. HOWEVER, once you have the rifle you can replace the action with a screw in barrel SS unit available from Brownells, and fit an aftermarket screw in barrel. Then get a new trigger assembly. Then if that is all working well, get a replacement stock. :stir: I have...
  6. Tip Of The Week

Rust Remover To each litre of water add: 100g of Citric Acid 40g of Washing Soda 2 Tablespoons of Washing up liquid IN THIS ORDER unless you really want a kitchen waist deep in bubbles. Add the washing soda slowly as it will foam mightily. Dunk your rusty whatsit in the soln. Surface rust will...
  7. Air rifles Upgradable to FAC?

Tsk tsk, I cannot imagine anyone wanting to do that, humph👮‍♂️. Who sells them?🥷
  8. Mosquito repellant?

This is what we use in the Malaria ridden Papuan jungle. All I can say is it works.
  9. Webley MKVI. Happy to have it - but should I try and restore it?

If it were mine, HELL YES! You like the gun but hate looking at it. That isn't a good thing is it? Get it restored properly.
  10. 21 Sharp anyone?

So far the cartridge has been tested and shown to be inconsistent in accuracy and penetration is extraordinary, well beyond the already surprising penetration of a .22 LR. Also due to the light weight it does not retain it's energy downrange. I don't think I will be using one.
  11. Martini 12/15 extractor (making my own).

From RWS 5.56x50 Magnum cases sized down to 45mm. It was originally a .222R and I had 120 cases by Super. We chambered it with a short neck a la .223 Rem and so .223 loads were possible as the .222R Super is longer thasn the .222 Rem. But inevitably they wore out and eventually I had to go to a...
  12. Rook Rifle Conversions

I'm onsite at the moment but when I get home I'll try to post a pic of the ejector. My ejector looks exactly like the one in the thread below. Martini 12/15 extractor (making my own). This is a Martini Cadet in .22 WRM. It's got a .22LR 16.5" fluted, MAB, SS, match barrel, rechambered in...
  13. Martini 12/15 extractor (making my own).

One of my Martinis. .223R I'm fashioning a new stock from figured Burgoyne Walnut. Martini Cadet by BSA. Circa 1916.
  14. Martini 12/15 extractor (making my own).

Nice. Do you have a spare for sale? I'm curious though, is the trigger OEM or adapted? And who made the action?
  15. Accurate small calibre.

I'd go .22 Magnum as they are easy to use. Accurate and effective to at least 120m and don't need special consideration to reloading to keep the cost per round down. I had a 22 Hornet and loved it. What I didn't like was the extortionate cost per round. So I put a .222R together for the long...
