I have just checked 60 bullets!!!!!! and they are all with in 0.002" for a Hornaday 87g Bullet they range from 0.931" to 0.933" so they are good to go, so the lead soft point doesn't seem to be a concern. Is it something I'm doing wrong? surely you shouldn't get a 0.015" difference

The cartridge cases were all fine and primers below the flush. I just didn't think I would have to measure the projectiles:)

I did get the point but had not read the replies before adjusting. First time reloading, with some help I'm sure I'll get there. I didn't think that there would be that much variance in the heads

Thanks, I readjusted a couple of the longer ones that were about 0.015" out. I might but a OAL gauge as I don't see why once the seating die is set you can get a couple that far out

Hello, I have just started reloading. I full length resized some federal brass and have started to work up a load but I have a problem with the overall length. I have a set of Lee dies and set the Die seating length to 2.710 which worked on 2 of the completed bullets but the other 2 are 2.717...

Thanks for all you replies, I went up to Thurso on Thursday and Friday for some Hinds. The first day I used the .243 and used my normal 100g power shoks, I shot 2 hinds and neither ran more than a couple of yards. Next day I used the .308 and had 4 hinds again no runners with the 15gg power shoks,

I went out to Morton range today to try the Federal and Winchester. I initially zeroed with the Winchester but finished off with the Federal 150g Power shok. The Winchester were about 1.5 inch at 100m where as the Federal were just under and inch for 5 shots.

I picked up the rifle this morning. On the advice of my rfd I have got some 150g federal power shok and Winchester super X power point. I'm off to the range tomorrow so I'll let you know how I get on Thanks for your replies John

Thanks again. I'll have a try at the SST's. I'm also toying with the idea of reloading. By the time I find the right factory ammo I could probably be well on my way to buying a Lee kit. I don't do a lot of shooting but I could also reload for the .243 although I'm happy with the federal power shoks
