Thanks some useful advice. I had them allow me to shoot with other FAC holders then there would be much more oppertunties. Biker1 has very kindly offered to take me out for some shooting and I've gratefully acccepted. I'm just going to take my current stock of ammo along and then get some more in.

I will be fair to my current mentor though as most of his shooting is done through bookings and he takes people out most weeks, it's just a bit pricey for me at the moment. He's a decent chap though.

The storys is I've had my FAC for over a year now and currently own a CZ .17HMR, and I've also space for a .222, which is listed for all vermin and legal deer speices. I'm just learning the ropes with this rimfire and w beforeant to shoot a few more rounds progressing to anything...
Anyone own one for use in the UK? I'm not sure what stance the law takes in regard to calibers such as the .450 Marlin and similiar. It fires a large bullet, yes, but at slow velocitys. Would make a good boar and goat gun.
I and a friend are planning a trip abroad in the next coming years so I'm planning on getting a rifle that's chambered in a classic African caliber - it's my holy grail to have a big bore double:). I'm looking at something either a .416 or .470, so it's very, very doubtful I'd get it for UK...
