I’ve seen it and spoken to him about the dog, told me his Labs were a lot easier and quicker to train, out working whilst the Chessie was still on basics.
I believe he’s recently got a new pup… another Lab.
On or off the lead?
I wonder how people use dogs that indicate deer, are the dogs walking on heel off lead or walking ahead slowly?
Or on a lead at all times?
Yes it should, you just have to make sure you line it up right.
I’ve had it before where it sits on the edge of the slot instead of onto the slot so it’s a bit high:
I pulled it up with pliers to align it, then when I pushed the barrel in it just pushes it back down.
Have you seared it correctly with the recoil lug in the slot on the action?
Sometimes it can be slightly off and the rifle sits high, take it out, pull the recoil lug up (I had to use pliers as it’s snug in the stock) and ensure it’s in the slot not slightly off.
Some people remove them as it’s a contact on the barrel.
Without it your barrel is now fully free floated.
Test how it shoots without it and if it groups / shoots well then crack on.
I believe the screw tightness / torque (after a quick google) should be between 20-35 in-lbs.
Again, some...
My wife has recently asked about getting her SGC and if she can share my guns and cabinets.
She did also enquire about the rifles too which I said was more complex but some positive comments above from some sensible forces.
