I have a Landig 4500 having had converted larder fringes and a second hand commercial fridge previously. The Landig is so much better. It been totally reliable and the temperature control is precise and so easy to set and check. It maintains 2c effortlessly in all temperatures which domestic...
  2. The first and last ibex - tightroping Tajikistan's ridges (Part 1)

Thanks for sharing. Amazing landscape pics and your description gives me a real would idea of the experience you were having.
  3. 1943 Marksmanship test.

That's a pretty comprehensive test. It would require some practice for those of us who predominantly use sticks when stalking! Would be fun to try though.
  4. Hi has anyone setup a small home butchery game dealer business

Brilliant! Thanks for your clear answers, I will have no issues with these limits. I already freeze quantities that don't fit in my small food recycling bin, but it sounds like I can dump skin, heads and forelegs in the general waste bin without any concerns. This will make things simpler.
  5. Hi has anyone setup a small home butchery game dealer business

I am about to go through the process of food registration and think I cover most of the bases, but I am concerned about the disposal of remains (bones, skin etc..) as I don't want to arrange commercial disposal. My volumes will be very modest (around 20 carcassess p.a.) will the inspector accept...
  6. The benefits of vac packing

You should try eating at the venison yourself. I have had joints that got lost in the chest freezer that were vacuum packed and 10 years old. All absolutely fine. Wouldn't do that with fatty meats, chicken and seafood but venison is so low fat it keeps incredibly well.
  7. Sold: Walk in chiller and butchery equipment.

    pmd you earlier today.
  8. Accommodation Plockton

Not cheap but the Plockton Inn is lovely. You can also book the annex (cheaper) if you are staying for a week. Warning: may be up to date as haven't been for a couple of years. Plockton Inn also nice.
  9. Rovince clothing

Very thin and breathable. However, wets though with any rain and not thorn resistant. Great summer trousers but they are light duty.
  10. Jet sled

I have used a JS1 with runners for Fallow extraction from very rough ground. It is stiff enough to get into car even with a v. large Fallow buck. I did find it hard work to lift the leading edge onto the tailgate ledge and then lift the rear of the sled with most of the faijllow deadweight into...
  11. Edible or no?

I can't see anything in your pictures that would worry me. If the lymph nodes were fine then it comes down to your feeling about its condition. The skin could be the end of shedding the winter coat but I haven't any real experience of that close up. A heavy tick burden is a possible indicator of...
  12. Edible or no?

We're any of the lymph nodes swollen?
  13. SUV - Stupid Unnecessary vehicle, Which one?

The current Suzuki Vitara would be a possible choice imo. I do mainly road miles in my 2018 "Boosterjet". Car is light so quite economical even though its a petrol engine which is good for congestion charge / urban areas. Its fun to drive (with Boosterjet engine) but surprisingly capable off...
  14. Wanted: Idleback chair sought

We have a wonderful gun on our shoot who has developed MS. He is now struggling to shoot from his peg due to some leg weakness. We are a small woodland shoot so putting an office chair in the back of a Defender or Polaris won’t solve the problem, as many of the pegs require a walk from the...
