Thanks for all the replies. Now in a rare moment of fiscal common sense I've bought myself a new HTO rockfish for about £35, I've also borrowed a small reel off a course fishing mate so I can give this LRF a try... If I enjoy it Im sure I'll upgrade fairly swiftly.

Has anyone tried to sea fish with a light spinning reel and rubber lure with a fly rod? (got 20+ fly rods. 3 wt to salmon to choose from!)

Seems fine, I always clean my barrel every time I shoot, and to be honest I find the process quite cathartic so I'm not worried it it needs an extra scrub and of course have nothing to compare it against. Mik built the rifle, recommended/suggested N570 so that's what I use.

I use N570 with 230g bergers. coming up to 500 rounds. I've shot a mile and see no reason to change.
