Yes, Martin Tomlinson & I went and wished we had gone to the UKPHT where, no doubt you were.
Young Ronald Rose's talk quite different than his father Ronnie's (which echos his book Working with Nature)
This talk was very scientific and holistic - it was basically his findings from his 2 year study commissioned by the Scottish gov looking in to 'what is sustainable deer mgt'. Ronald is a forester and that's a very science - basedbased training hence his graphs and jargon would be liked by the mandarins who would get his report but had most of us drifting off! Very few 'real life examples' etc
Altough Bowland didnt formally meet first Nigel seems like a good guy and is moving to the area having the NW FE finally putting in the beat system the rest of Britain FE have! So he has Bowland Forest, N Lancs and S Cumbria. He's going to organise a Assheton Arms meet soon.
