  1. Vacancy: Deer Recording App

  2. No hang methods.

They look canny! Would one fit a whole roe in it? Ordered my vacuum sealer off Amazon. Similar one to the silver crest lidl was selling. Cutting into primals is my plan. This is what I was hoping to hear. I wasn’t sure if breaking it down might cause the muscles to shrink but as long as...
  3. No hang methods.

Amazing thank you! I can understand their logic as you don’t want to drag that monster back to the larder. I’ve seen some that are vented and impregnated with other stuff but at £30 for a single use bag doesn’t seem worth it. I’ve got plenty of large Muslim sheets from the babies. I’ll pack...
  4. No hang methods.

It’s on the wish list. My last batch was a nightmare to separate in cling film! A chiller is definitely in the future. It’s just finding space for it. I may have to give up the workshop space and turn it into a larder.
  5. No hang methods.

A couple of weeks ago I managed to get a lovely Roe buck that had been hanging in a chiller for a couple of days. Brought it back. Skinned it off my pull up bar out back, before breaking it down and popping it in the fridge. I’m hoping to be getting out soon and get one myself but I don’t have...
  6. Part time professional

I have a couple of years before I can think of making a real change anyway so I’m just going to keep on a mix of getting out with guides, trying for my own ground and seeing if any professionals will let me tag along. It might turn into something, it might stay a hobby but I’ll hopefully have...
  7. Part time professional

I could probably tick everything off that list within the year minus the quad and larder 😂 (not the cheap bits of course) Got my food safety and health and safety level 2. Very good understanding of HACCP from managing a professional kitchen. I see now that a contractor is not like the...
  8. Part time professional

    Why is that?
  9. Part time professional

The self employed route is definitely something I’ve been considering but it would probably be more of a food business as opposed to a culling service. How do the contracts work? Are they based on a cull target or a time commitment? I’d not really considered a seasonal role but I guess that...
  10. Part time professional

I’m curious as to what the options are for someone who wants to pursue a career in stalking but only as a part time profession. I spoke with my local FC and they told me they only had a full time trainee position that I had to relocate for or they used contractors. The local wildlife trusts...
  11. Cheapest way to do DSC 1 and 2?

Depends on your experience really. I’m a complete novice so I’m doing pre-DSC1, DSC1 then paid stalks with AW. You could rock up to the assessment then do a stalk the following morning with an AW.
  12. Aspiring Stalker

Here’s hoping! I put it in December. Contacted them to confirm they’d received it in January and they told me they were currently processing october 2021 apps. Got an email in february saying they were doing march 2022. Next couple of months the way things are going! Just a shame it’s only...
  13. Aspiring Stalker

Hello, I’m here to learn more about stalking and make some contacts around the north east. I’ve never been stalking but I’m planning on some guided stalks up in greenlee with Jon in Northumberland later this year. I come from a target shooting background with rimfires and air rifles. Little...
