I'm based in NW London and BASC insured. I’m looking to learn the ropes from anyone in the South East happy to let a newcomer tag along, whether that’s stalking, wildfowling, fishing, or any other field sport. Keen to learn by watching, helping, and getting stuck into any jobs that need doing...
the cheek to put 'only' before 27 kg of sausage, I tip my hat to you sir.
Oh and don't be surprised if you find me in your inbox for some sausage recipes in the future!
Will consider the gutless method if I'm taking anything bigger in the future and once I'm more confident around a carcass. Going to try and hang for a bit if there's time, otherwise lots of ice for the drive
Absolutely. I've been chewing the wife and extended family's ear off about all of this...
That's a lot of sausage!
Fully with you, would love to maximise yield but been told there aren't any fallow bucks about so Muntjac will have to do until later in the season. Noted
Thanks will do!
Welcome to the site mate. In a similar position to you having just started my hunting and shooting journey. Been down the rabbit hole a few times and happy to answer any 'silly' questions, feel free to drop me a PM
Thanks Olaf, sounds like a solid plan. Hadn’t considered freezing whole joints before but can easily cook those straight out the freezer with a muntjac. Picked up a dedicated freezer just for this so plenty of space (for now)
Only thing left is to find and successfully shoot a beast!
Hope this isn’t against any rules.
Came across this free fridge on FB marketplace and instantly thought of the crew on here. Figured someone might want it. Was only listed today

A lot of supermarkets are even putting security tags on them these days because teenagers are doing anything they have to do to hit their vitamin B6 levels!
Do you reckon a game bag is better than transporting back in an aerated tray and stuffing the carcass with frozen bottles? Tempted by the Alaska bags as read it helps the meat not dry out too much in the fridge
Absolutely
