  1. Gun licence fees going up again.

The NGO team have helped multiple people that I know when firearms licensing have tried overstepping the mark.
  2. Gun licence fees going up again.

It may be free, but can we still have a little less of it?
  3. Steel Action

Cool, that’s good to know 👍
  4. Steel Action

Anyone know how the barrel is attached to the action? Is it reasonably simple to re-barrel?
  5. Wanted: Roe buck/Muntjac Staffordshire/Chesire/Shropshire

I’m near Ludlow. Let me know if you arnt sorted, I can fit you in 👍
  6. Stalking Show - Head Shooting discussion

I’m currently out with clients (mostly male) about 6 days a week in the summer. I have been doing this for about 6 years now, so have taken probably 200 different clients stalking now (many are repeats clients who come regularly so I can’t count them as being different clients). I can count on...
  7. Stalking Show - Head Shooting discussion

Opposite side, above spine. Iv got another picture of a roe doe that I had to track with the dog to dispatch after it had been seen by a farmer. Shot in front of one of one shoulder and exited out of the opposite shoulder blade, pretty much a hilar shot. It was completely healed up and the deer...
  8. Stalking Show - Head Shooting discussion

For shooting your fallow I think your 130grainers are about perfect 👍 if you ever want to shoot driven pigs or a moose in Europe the 150gr would be awesome 😂
  9. Stalking Show - Head Shooting discussion

I actually prefer the 150gr bullets! They shoot very well in many rifles and if you shoot larger game a lead core 150gr really transforms the performance the .270 causing it to punch above it’s weight. On fallow/sika and smaller they are probably wasted but on heavy red and big boar they work...
  10. Stalking Show - Head Shooting discussion

The picture was shot with 150gr lead in .270.
  11. Stalking Show - Head Shooting discussion

This is one of many wounded chest shot deer that Iv been called in to dispatch. Shoulder shot gone wrong by a neighbouring stalker one week before. Pictures of jaw shot deer found still alive are hideous, but it pure naivety to suggest that chest shooting is foolproof. All shot placements can go...
  12. Tracking dog book

Iv got the same book, great read.
  13. Sako 90 finnlight 270

Probably the hardest to shoot rifle that Iv ever used. A client of mine had one and couldn’t get it under 1.5moa, after a lot of trying I put it down to the recoil rather than the gun actually being inaccurate. I shoot .300 win, 7 rem and have shot a bit of .416 rugby and .577, that Sako .270...
  14. Price of ammo now 🫣

I’m on my way to Sweden to do some deer/boar dog work and my friends here can’t believe how cheap our ammo is in the uk. I wouldn’t just presume that others have it better.
  15. Best dogs

Firstly I said stop, not hold. Secondly the deer is wounded, not fully functional. Many spaniels can catch and kill wounded roe, fallow does, prickets, sika hinds and then stop and harass wounded stags enough that you can get up to them. A lot of labs are in the low 20kgs now, my spaniel dog...
