I purchased a new M94 Winchester carbine in 1985.....it was not a particularly good rifle quality wise but shot well enough with jacketed factory ammunition. The model 94 Winchester is currently being made in Japan by Miroku and there is no comparison they are much better quality rifles...
A net gun would also work well on drones, but at fairly close ranges only.....the kind of contraption used for live deer recovery etc.Typically a high velocity rifle cut down in length with a high-power blank cartridge to fire the net out.....the net covers a decent size area and would I think...
It's actually a simple matter to make up bushings for the round bar models.....thats what I do for mine although everything is packed away at the moment. All thats needed is a smallish lathe.....I also made up some alloy shot and power bottles to fit it.They are a really good quality press as you...
As far as a standard NZ firearm license goes (for people who live here) you can borrow/loan a rifle or shotgun for up to 30 days without having to change over who it is registered to....so getting the temporary use of someone's else sporting arms is not a hassle.
I much prefer the older models with the alloy trigger group, barrel band etc. However I will say that the models made over recent years generally have much tighter fitting barrels,I have removed many for threading and quite often you have to drive the receiver off the barrel with a thick nylon...
Machine up a pair of aluminium inserts to fit 30mm rings.......that will fit a 26mm scope tube.Or you could machine them out of Delrin plastic if you prefer.I did a set for a customer recently who had purchased a old German scope thinking it had a 1" tube....no rings available here so made the...
I am not in the UK so not sure how things work there....if you obtain a certificate to possess shotguns, and give being in a clay target club as your reason for wanting one, can you then also use said shotgun(s) for game bird or rabbit shooting etc on private property?.
I did make a set of 28 gauge dies for my old Redding shotgun press, but as yet have not used it to reload 28 gauge. Are 28 ga steel wads readily available in the UK?.
That is a Santa Barbara action (Spanish) made for the civil market (no thumb slot in the receiver).Nothing wrong with those actions though they are a very sound rifle and work just as well as the earlier ones built on surplus military receivers....
I think you are far better to do the base screws around 22-24 inch pounds and epoxy the bases to the receiver to take up the shear force. If they are the 6-48 thread screws I believe 30 inch pounds is too tight and puts unnecessary strain on them.....I see so many rifles come in with screws that...
You are where you are.....I think in large measure to the great war and the aftermath of it.Revolution and unrest on the Continent was the trigger for severe firearms restrictions in the UK.....I am no historian nor scholar but that has always seemed to me what spelled the end of the casual...
Plenty of those old BSA sporting rifles still being used in New Zealand....I re-barrel several every year.If you ever have to dis-assemble the bolt make sure it is done by someone who knows their way around these rifles....don't ask me how I know this....
