  1. Bino Harness with Molle?

I use one of these. The molle panels holds a pouch on each side for a garmin rino and a garmin Alpha 100 LVG - Mountain Binocular Harness V2
  2. My most recent sambar hunting trip of fun and of games.

I agree. Im not well known enough as a knife maker over here for collectors to want to buy my knives. But I like that fact that most people that do buy my knives are hunters that get out and use them. If they were all going into collections and never used it would be a bit depressing.
  3. My most recent sambar hunting trip of fun and of games.

Looks like a great trip for you both. Good to see the knife getting some work done for you guys :thumb:

Terotouf doesnt need to be sealed. Its no more absorbent than micarta - ie its not really absorbent. I just finish it with a foodsafe wax, but thats just to help bring out the contrast with the liner material.
  5. A Brace of TeroTuf™ Handled Secare

Terotuf is a great handle material. Its like micarta, but quite a bit lighter because of the resins used. And the chemicals in the resin are a lot less dangerous than the resins used in micarta. I found it pretty easy to shape and sand too. The only downside I have found its that it is quite...
  6. My new custom rifle is driving me crazy, help needed!

I agree that rifle has been proven to be a shooter, and the field use is down to shooter ability. There are a lot of things that can come into play here, and its hard to address everything without being able to see the shooting process in action. But to me the key issue seems to be the shooter...
  7. Sambar antler, question for knife makers.

Sambar antler is the king of antler handles. That antler looks like you would get at least one set of scales out of it. Some sambar can have too much pith in the centre if its small. For a full tang using a thicker piece and you grind it to the right thickness from the bottom, then you generally...
  8. Custom knife design ideas

The handle material you are showing looks like G10. If it is G10, its pretty indestructible, but can be a bit heavy. I do use G10, but find micarta is generally lighter, and TeroTuf is the lightest of the synthetics. Weight may or may not be a consideration for you, just thought I would point...
  9. Top knife maker - UK

Yes mate. To the enthusiast's, its a never ending obsession. At least you can never have too many 🤣🤣🤣
  10. Top knife maker - UK

Yes, I do wonder how much of the Woodlore was from Alan, and how much form Ray. Not casting any aspersions as I have no clue. I love the woodlore design though - they are a thing of beauty. Its another of those classic designs that is a great looking knife as well as being a great user. This...
  11. Custom Knifes - what is a custom knife?

Loveless pattern knives are works of art. His eye for detail was highly refined over the years. But to be fair, Loveless called himself a "bench maker" not a custom maker, because he gave customers very little input into the knives he made. For example, in an interview he mentions how people ask...
  12. Top knife maker - UK

Thanks for the photo. Nice to see those Alan Wood knives. I know them by reputation, but have never seen one in person. Interesting mix of pins on those top two with the loveless bolts, G10, etc. And the handle shape similar to the Woodlore, but different.

Those grinds are knife maker porn :thumb:
  14. #1309, Portland120, Stainless Bolsters and African Blackwood

Very nice. That bolster looks mint
  15. Lucky 13 magazine conversion, AICS compatible?

My experience with Lucky 13 mags are that they are built to work with factory bottom metal. EG I have one that goes straight on Tikka factory rifle. Never seen a Lucky 13 AICS mag.
