  1. Available: Goose shooting

    You have a PM Sir.
  2. Flight pond

Hi Kudu101, Much advice has already been given on this thread but if you have a look on the BASC or GWCT websites, or pretty much anywhere on the Web, there's plenty of advice out there on how to look after your flight pond. Personally, THE most important bit after feeding is do not over shoot...
  3. Le chameau- wool lined

What's going on with the Zips? I did hear something about them changing to a new zip and there's been a few problems - is that true?
  4. Le chameau- wool lined

Hmmm... I wondered the same thing. I've got a pair of neoprene jobbies that are wearing out now, but they have been the warmest wellies I've ever used. I like the sound of some woolly ones but I'm guessing that if they get wet, your feet stay cold, unlike neoprene which is designed to keep you...
  5. Available: ROE DOES in the east.

I'll give you a buzz mate. I'm definitely up for taking Steve along too.
  6. Available: ROE DOES in the east.

I see the 'Muntjac Frenzy' trip went well then John? Cheers, Paul.
  7. I don’t want to be in the The Book !

Well done Lawrence – a great write up as always and a Silver Buck on you first attempt too! I was out with Malcolm later on Saturday but the weather Gods decided a nice storm would put pay to any ambitions of my first CWD that day. We went out again yesterday morning but the wind was very cold...
  8. Harkila Pro hunter active thigh zips waterproof?

+1 there Red Dot - very well said!
  9. Paying farmers

I totally agree with everyones feelings on this one but the trouble is, Stalking is becoming a victim of its own success. More and more people are coming into Stalking now thanks to access courses such as the DSC1. On the one hand this is great for the sport and for safety, but on the other hand...
  10. First pheasant shoot coming up.

Has our illustrious Shoot Captain been told this bit Paul!!!! Here's looking forward to a few good days on the peg with you all again this year. Cheers Paul.
  11. Which Calibre .270 or .30-06 or .308??

No matter which calibre you go for, with driven in mind try a Blaser (okay, tins hats everyone!) Fast action and shorter overall length and extremely accurate straight out of the box = great rifle for driven and regular stalking.
  12. Pink footed geese over Ainsdale

Wow, really gets the hairs on my neck standing up. There's nothing quite like it. I used to shoot every year up at Loch Leven back in the 90's but I hear it's not as good as it used to be up there now. We're certainly seeing a lot more Pinks on the Dee Estuary these days although getting under...
  13. Fallow - Cheshire

Well they're all on the move across to us all that's for sure. I just hope everyone will give them a chance to establish themselves first.
  14. Blaser???

Just to add my two pennies worth - I've owned several Sako's in the past and loved them all including a semi custom 75 in 7mm 08. I now own a R93 in .308 and it shoots bullet on bullet with factory ammo. The semi custom couldn't do any better with custom loads.... At the end of the day though...
  15. Available: Roe Bucks in the East.
