  1. Roe doe are so tough

I suspect the bullet had not fully mushroomed as they are darn light carcass, .243 does the job perfectely, though i have had them run as it takes time to depleat oxygen in the system and if any adrenaline involved, stby.
  2. Non-waterproof stalking trousers

I have never failed to rip the crotch on any trousers I use. Mainly use Harkila Pro in winter, ripped, Use harkil scandinavian in more moderate whether , ripper crotch, the Pulsarrail, ripped, some might say I have big B$$$$, nothing survives, but its all just better ventilation!
  3. Non-waterproof stalking trousers

I just use ordinary cotton work trousers, got myself some good quality Pulsarrail orange ones, work just fine as deer see it as brown I understand, work well sweat free, comfortanble, plenty of pockets, great in the summer.
  4. Fuel additives what you using ?

I tend to ensure I use a good oil for servicing, I made the mistake this time around of using up some free to me Tescos oil all new from a friends dad who passed away, fully synthetic, it has really adversely affected performance and fuel economy to the point I am thinking of ditching it and...
  5. I made a bad shot yesterday

I shoot .260 Rem and .243, ohh and .284, all the same parent case, the .243 drops straight in the .260. One day I was out with the .243 (both Tikka T3, with custom barrels), I took the shot, all well, went to reload, no go, erm, what, extracted to see a nielson sonic in 6.5 appear, to this day...
  6. Some opinions please, did I mess up?

Once you get out to that sort of range wind becomes the biggest elephant in the room (or field). I can range and dial in drop and am confident at that, but guessing wind speed and drift is so much more challenging. I too have taken shots on roe out to 320, but as you have found, it rarely works...
  7. Deer vision at night

The older one, looks like she has detected the IR?
  8. What to do with the carcasses?

I process every type of deer at home, munti, roe, fallow and reds, I am suprised to see people say reds are difficult, mine are southern reds, maybee more fat, but find them as easy as any other, now muntis are another level for skinning.... I picked up a buffalo mincer needing love for £130...
  9. Hanging deer, in fur or skinned. What's the preference??

I have tried both and also muslim cloth. In skin will let you mature without the risk of drying too much, Muslin does a simular thing but gives you extra costs/ washing to do. I have used ones imported from Canada, which are moist on opening, reading, they are lightely moist in a citric acid...
  10. Deer vision at night

Deer eysight is I think very different to ours, poor binocular vision, therefore hard to detect object distance in anything other than good light. They detect movement exceptionally well, especially fallow, who seem to have radar! As has been said, walking in a straight line to the animals, (roe...
  11. Which truck is the every day truck? Problems choosing

So I have an Isuzu D-Max 2.5 TD, Look after it and it will look after you. Mine has never had any of the DPF issues in my ownership, turbo fine, moderate power. But I can only recoment isyt job is putting a terrain tamer parabolic spring kit on as a must. Drives better, axle articulation makes...
  12. Neilson Sonic lead free bullets

Spoke to Ben today, it appears Nielson have withdrawn from U.K, but I have plenty. Dissapointing, but all I ever heard was negativity surrounding them as they didnt look like a "mans" hunting bullet. Unfortionately peoples perception surrounding BC got in the way, despite the fact they work...
  13. Neilson Sonic lead free bullets

All can say, is the nielson hunts work extremely effectively, leave limited damage, but so far drop everything I have used them on in both 6mm and 6.5mm, cant recomentd them enough.
