Sailing, bbq and enjoying the garden.
  2. Theoretical Perfect Stalking Road Trip?

Norfolk is hard to beat if CWD are on your list, as they’re more geographically limited than fallow and muntjac. It’s also a nice part of the country to spend a bit of time in rather than just passing through. The Broads in particular give you a good mix of scenery and a few other things to do...
  3. Scope for a .270

For CWD on marsh. There have been a couple of times when I felt I would have taken a shot if I had a bit more magnification. I'll have you see how I get on once I start using the Swarovski 4-12x50 Habicht that I have just bought. More magnification amplifies and shake of course, and you make a...

  7. Am i daft??

I get a lot more pleasure spotting deer through my binoculars and they are much nicer to use. I don't like the black and white display of the thermal but they are a useful tool for locating deer. You tend to see more than you can shoot...
  8. Scope for a .270

I've been using an S&B 8x56 Klassik on my .270 for the best part of 15 years. Its an excellent low light scope. I've recently decided to get a variable for longer shots on small deer to put on different rifle but I'm keeping the Klassik on the .270. It just works and has never let me down.
  9. Scope for a .270

I had a look at their binos at the Stalking Show and was impressed.
  10. New Deer Stalking App - First Light

I’ve been using this quite a bit over the last few weeks and have to say it’s really well put together. It’s clear a lot of thought has gone into it and it actually focuses on the things you want when you’re heading out, rather than trying to do too much. The legal times and at a glance...
  11. Taking out non stalkers

That’s all really useful, and if I’m honest it’s made me realise I was probably overthinking it a bit. The 'armed ramble' description really resonated. I think that’s exactly how it needs to be framed from the outset, not a mission to shoot something, just an opportunity to experience what...
  12. Taking out non stalkers

I’ve been on here a long time and have picked up a lot from the forum over the years, so thought I’d sense check something with the collective wisdom. Over the last couple of years I’ve had a few non stalkers ask about coming out just to see what deer stalking is all about. It’s got me...
  13. Help/Advice Sought: Open FAC Withdrawal Without Land

I'm in Norfolk and was given an open FAC for paid stalking, no problem at all.
  14. Steel Action

I had a look at the show, quite liked it. Nicely engineered but not a cheap option.
  15. Whats in your stalking kit?

I use a cable tie sometimes and I cut it off and take it with me.
