  1. Lead to copper

Sorry I just realised I didn't state the weight of the copper, so the lead was 140gr and the copper is 120gr
  2. Lead to copper

I did check the sight was tight and the mod was screwed tight, couldn't think of anything else to check. But with it now grouping well after adjustment of the scope surely it was down to bullet change, or maybe I'm a **** shot.
  3. Lead to copper

12 inches down and maybe an inch or two to the left. I understand a change of bullet would have a different point of impact, I just found it alot for 50 meters
  4. Lead to copper

I've zeroed it now and it's shooting tight groups, would it still do that with a gummed up barrel
  5. Lead to copper

I don't think so but I wouldn't bet my life on it
  6. Lead to copper

This isn't a which is best topic more of a zeroing issue. So I've got a 270 and was using 140gr lead but I've decided to start using copper. I had it zeroed at 50m with the lead and tried the coppers and it was miles out. About 12 inches. Is it normal for them to be that different or could I...
  7. What ammo for scottish reds

Yes, been in training and even climbed helm cragg in the lakes on Monday to see how I'd fair. Did pretty well even if I do say so myself, the missus, she was another story. Thought I might have to get her helicoptered out.
  8. What ammo for scottish reds

Thank-you everyone, it might seem a daft question but no one I know has used copper ammo and they usually use a heavier lead version, and if I'm correct you go a bit lighter on copper but didn't want to go to light. Thanks again
  9. What ammo for scottish reds

I've got a xbolt2 in 270 and am off to Scotland for the red stags. I intend to use none toxic and have got sako 120g, is that enough or should I have a bit more weight
  10. First munty head

No it was gralloched and head removed in the field, just pieced together when I got home for the picture
  11. Nutritional profile of venison and consumer attitudes towards game meat

Ha ha, that might be why no ones willing to put a recipe up. In fairness I think wild anything depends where it's been killed and what it's been eating, I've only had ducks out of spring fed ponds and enjoyed them. I'd dare to say ducks out of a muddy resivour may taste different.
  12. First munty head

Got this old boy a few months back, and while he's got a snapped tusk a broken antler, and his ears were like shredded ribbons, most people would of binned it, but I thought it gave him character and he had a story or two to tell, so on my wall he is
  13. Nutritional profile of venison and consumer attitudes towards game meat

That's what I was getting at, selling a rutting stag/buck is not going to be to most people's taste never mind someone who's never tasted venison
  14. Nutritional profile of venison and consumer attitudes towards game meat

I actually like red the best, but haven't tried fallow or sika so can't really give a solid opinion. When selling your fallow do you sell rutting bucks?
  15. Nutritional profile of venison and consumer attitudes towards game meat

Another consideration is the size and flavour profile of different deer, It can become daunting to people who don't know the difference, imagine thinking your getting a big roasting joint for the family from a red and on Inspection it's a muntjac haunch. And imagine having a mild flavoured...
