I am still waiting for someone to start making aics bottom metals in "forged" carbon or PEEK for the Tikka.
Until then the weight penalty on aftermarket bottom metals isn't worth it to me.
You get a shorter rifle for the same barrel length.

- Three pos safety (though you can get it for the Tikka now)
- Double stack magazine that can be loaded in the rifle.
- Action scaled to cartridge

It may be because spring tension is higher with more rounds in the magazine, which in turn will cause the round to "pop" up more when it clears the feed lips on the magazine.
Less rounds in magazine = less spring tension = less pop.
The root cause i think is that the round clears the feed lips...
