😂😂😂 £800 for something a £15 victorinox will do!

You have got to have your head Examined to pay that!
You certainly would if £800 mattered much to you, but there are similar choices in most goods - guns, rifles, suits etc.

I think it's jolly good that we have craftsmen who can make stuff that rises above the everyday - and that there are folk who have the brass, as well as the inclination, to pay them for it.

I guess in the same way, people buy cheap, old cars to get from A to B, rather than something nicer. Some because they can't justify the cost, even if they could afford something more expensive, and some because they just aren't able to afford one.

But there are few people who would choose an old cheap car, if they could comfortably something more expensive.

I suppose it’s a bit like my old dad use to say.If it’s something you enjoy doing and you can afford it but it.It’s good to have nice kit.

Does it matter? If you want it, buy it. If you don't, don't
Well it's nice to know what is going on and whether other think the same as you.
I believe there are others on this site that make some lovely knives, quite expensive but not as much as those being advertised.

Eddy,

The internet is good to show people options, if they can be bothered to look. As for being concerned about other peoples opinions, ask an opinion on here, and get an infinite number of opposing views, and ultimately, we need to take responsibility for our own decisions.

You have no issue justifying what you drive, it's what you want, just the same as others buying something something they want, rather than the minimum they need ;)

I don’t mind paying for quality but there comes a point where you’re just buying a brand. I was looking at a fallkniven knife on a website the other day for two grand. Not a diamond in sight either.

There’s just something about a nice hunting knife... I have an emberleaf being custom ordered. Mainly out of curiosity as I’ve read about them a bit on here. It’ll be a unique knife you don’t see over here whatsoever, and a decent piece of kit I’m sure. I’ll post a review once I get and have a chance to use it.

My dad always said buy the best kit you can afford. If you can afford an £800 knife why not you you only live once.
I would agree with this. If you can afford to spend some money on your hobbies, buy whatever quality is worth it for you- and that you’re satisfied with. No sense in comparing one person’s tools to another’s. What’s important is that you’re happy with what you have, and you respect other’s decisions to buy what they want. A fellow hunter’s character is far more important to me than his/her tools. 🙃

That being said, I’m sometimes in a position where I can gift a quality knife to a fellow hunter who may not be in a position to afford one, and seeing the look on their face means more to me than keeping it for myself.
