7mm non toxic

Hi i am interested in Non toxic around 140g out of 7mm, particular the Nosler or Barnes LRX, mostly function not accuracy. Generally going fast (3000± f/p/s)
has any body experience of these or any of these,

I'll be starting load dev soon for 145gr lrx for 7mm RM with n560, can let you know the load when finished if you like.

I wouldn't use anything else other than lrx, I've tried pretty much all non toxic and always go straight back to lrx (this is in 270) full confidence in them from close in to 500m+ for red/roe/sika into the thousands. They are most comparable bullet to lead, can't see why they won't be the same in 7mm. Just push them as fast as you can.

Can you tell me the difference between the 139 and the 145 LRX it seems so close in grains there must be something else, and why did you go 145 instead of 139.
Thank you.

There's not a massive difference in them ballisticaly wise with similar bc's. I went for the 145's for the reteanied energy at distance.

The 139s have a minimum expansion velocity of 1400fps I think it is and the 145s are 1600fps iirc.

I like to think with the lrx that you run a comparable weight to what you'd normally use with lead. Like I used 130gr lead in the 270 and the lrx are 129gr. I used to use 150gr lead in the RM before it was shot out so 145gr is close to that. I'll try them and see how I get on, if I feel I want more speed I'll drop back to 139s.

I'd have a looksie at the yew tree TLR, it's 130g tipped but it seriously does the business on anything this country has to offer, especially if you pair it with a cartridge that will push over 3kfps. My rem mag is low recoiling, flat shooting and will put anything on its arse. Food for thought?

my advice to anyone looking at copper is ( forget about the weights we are used to ) Instead look at length of the bullet , the faster you can send copper the better
I do agree with this and normally would drop down a weight to gain the extra velocity, I was meaning for lrx specifically I like to keep to that weights

120 gr TTSX out of 7mm-08 running at 3030 fps, accurate enough for humane kills out as far as I'm happy to shoot. This is on rutting Red, thru Fallow, down to Roe does. Not connected with a Sika yet, but I'm expecting similar results, if I do my part. Once the stocks run out I'll move over to Yew tree, probably the 130 gr TLR versions

Another 120 g TTSX user here @3350fps and excellent results out to 300-350m on all species. I have also tried the Virtus Osprey and Merlin 120 grain bullets and they also work very well and are more aerodynamic but shed petals more than the TTSX as they are designed to do. Don't worry about the bullets being lighter you will get exit wounds on pretty much everything.

Thank you all for this, my conclusion from this, Not the Nosler, probably the 139 LRX as fast as possible. Would that make them too explosive for Roe and Muntjak?

What chambering is the load for? If 7-08 or 7x57 I would say go 120gr and if a larger case then 139/140 class. To get the best out of non-toxic it helps to keep the velocity up. In 7mm I only have experience of 120gr TTSX in 7-08 and they are really good at just over 3,000 fps

Another one for ttsx in 140 grain in my 7mm 08. Shade under 2700 fps and clover leafs at 100m.
