Just going in to the 280 rem idea as I’ve got a nice rifle being offered to me, what factory ammunition are people using with them? Ideally after something relatively flat shooting!
Common load is 140gn with muzzle velocity of about 3,000 fps, available from, Remington, Nosler, Federal, Norma etc. As always it depends on what you can find in the market place in stock.
My local RFD is only offering one option for that cartridge. 140g Remington Premier Accutip. They generally hold a lot of ammunition in stock so that would suggest that your options are fairly limited.
Have you considered home loading? It's simple enough and can be done to a satisfactory standard with fairly basic kit. It would broaden your options massively. Another option would be to use a reloading service. There are several companies who can take your rifle, develop a load for it and then make that ammunition for you. Corinium Rifle Range are an option close to me, but there may be others nearer you.
Only one of the various RFDs locally have any .280 Remington, that’s dauntsey guns, 140 gr accutip. Looking at @njc110381 ‘s location we’re probably talking about the same RFD.
As I posted on your other thread it is a reload only option in all reality in the UK, you could get some ammunition that is currently in stock but after that people will struggle to restock from the US with the current situation.

Had a s/s Remmington in 280 for years superb round, best if reloaded
120gr very fast and flat, 140gr slowed down for woodland would put anything down easy.
150/160/170 for anything with Nosler Partisions or Speer GS
A friend once went on a hunting trip 30 years ago to Latvia on a driven hunt. He got a etsate rifle an old Remington semiauto. The ammo they gave him was 7X64. Worked fine
If you want to buy factory ammo ..... For pities sake buy 243 win , 308 win , 270 win , 6.5 creedmore etc . Don't buy anything you dont find at the vast majority of dealers on the shelf . In terms of deerstalking your not gaining anything other than difficulty obtaining ammo and ammo of the same batch or even brand.
