Opinions wanted from tripod shooters.

Looking at getting a tripod for the foxing. From looking at the endless choices available I like the look of the Manbily QM-2832 Carbon Fiber Inverted Hunting Tripod.
My thoughts being the single stage inverted leg seems simple and quick to deploy. And I like the simplicity of the throw lever style ball head.
Is the inverted tripod a good idea or am I missing an obvious reason that makes everyone go for the traditional type?
Thanks.

I have a Manbilly, and for what I paid for it, I'm happy. Mine is an older version. How long it will last is anyone's guess. A few pals have the "Bog" jobbies, and they do seem more robust.

If you can, try before you buy would be my advice. When you have them "In the Hand" so to speak, you really get a better idea of what they're about... much like women I find.... :norty:

That would be the best thing, but in the internet world we live in, getting your hands on something before you order it these days is rare…..on your latter point I totally agree……you wouldn’t buy a car without a test drive😄

Every deer I’ve ever shot is from primos trigger sticks fitted with a Spartan Davros head. Adapters are cheap (£20) so I’ve them in every rifle I own.

I have a bog death grip with saddle mount which I use for zeroing but would never take it into field it’s far to compromised

another vote for the trigger sticks , 95% of deer i shoot are shot from them

I never got on with quad sticks, just too slow for deer or fox. I searched for tripod having the right balance between light weight and being stiff enough. Found this Weylland FX7 to be perfect for my needs. It can be carried one handed even when extended and is much more solid than some other similar tripods. I found fitting the rifle via arca rail seems good but lamping at night way too slow. The lightweight Celtic bag fitted to a plate with arca is my favourite solution.

I use with arca rail and have saddle for air rifle or gun I dont have arca rail on

I'd like personally to see other brands tripods in flesh see what's out there or better
Im happy with Rekon but only ones ive played with in anger or hands on

Sound thinking from you on this. Ball head weight is key and get as thick a leg as possible for reducing wobble. The inverted legs are a great idea for quick adjustment 👌🏻

I’ve actually got a set of trigger sticks fitted with a rifle rest but I just find them too unstable. Hence why I’m looking to get a tripod.

Have to admit I’ve never tried sticks, the main reason being I see them being limited. For instance I don’t see them being any use when standing and scanning for foxes. At least with a tripod the rifle can be set up and ready for the second you see one.
