it would seem so wouldnt it, i have it on my 243 which i now have no need for due to no longer deer stalking,
did try selling it a couple of months ago but no takers,
i make lots of snap decisions and impulse buys, never regrated one of them though.
but sometimes i just cant justify things, having a beautiful PSE stock on a rifle i dont use and am technically selling, is one of them

In your situation, I’d give the stock a proper clean to remove dirt & grease/oil then knock it back with a scotch brite pad (& fine grit paper if those little dots are raised?) then use panel wipe before spraying a base coat & you should be good to go with your sponge after that.
I am looking at doing the same to a MDT Field stock and magazines
Ive got a krg echo on order and am planning a paint scheme for it. With plastic stocks you need to give it a proper key and a good primer and you won't have any issues. Give it a couple of coats of clear coat and it should make it pretty solid. I've done a few now
