Will be fine, choose a hunting bullet rather than a varmint bullet unless you’re only planning to head or neck shoot. What are people's thoughts on 55gr .223 for muntjac?
Plenty of soft points are as explosive as v-max, it’s more to do with the thickness of the jacket.soft points are fine ,no v-max though <messy> barnes ttsx are good .
My plan going fwd to the lead ban for >6mm is a .223 for muntjac and we have a copper .270 load developed for when it is needed. What are people's thoughts on 55gr .223 for muntjac?
Currently it is running norma off the shelf loads. As I have a day/night scope on it the plan was for foxes only as i belive it is not quite cricket to not use glass (i accept there is a difference between stalking and pest control) but I could be seriously tempted...Will be fine, choose a hunting bullet rather than a varmint bullet unless you’re only planning to head or neck shoot.

Sako 55gr soft point put fallow and reds down just fine if it’s put behind the front shoulder out to 150 yards, so will work fine for muntjac or cwd.
