Sold my thermal earlier in the week so out this morning with my trusty SLCs.
Not much moving about, but couldn’t miss this lad and two other friends bumbling through the woods towards me.
Barked them when in a nice suitable spot, H/L shot and he dropped in 5 yards.
As I approached I got a bit of a surprise just how big he was - through the scope he looked way smaller and more distant than the 80yards I had taken the shot from.
At 40.4kgs dressed it was a bit of an emotional carry out - just fitted in my Monach roe sack

To be fair, the worse my eyes get, the more appealing a 56mm eye bell is.
it’s on and off a couple times a week - will be fine.
