Good one, John.Ahh. I have a story you’ll enjoy.
At the father in laws in the US. Bro in law brings girlfriend, she’s from Ukraine. This is some years back mind..
Go to shooting range with 45 magnum, she, by the way, stands at 4ft 6 in height.
Anyhow, off we go, no one really gets hits on the typical torso silhouette, scatter, etc.
She asks to try, she gets the explanation of how a pistol works and all - she continues to chuck 6 rounds into the drum, flick it shut, and land a full drum in the forehead of the silhouette target.
Everyone, well, no one on the range knows wtf to sayshe says, I’m from Ukraine as you know, my father works in security

45 win mag was an automatic pistol round.I believe it was the 45 win mag revolver
Also were shooting the AR, AK and some old flintlocks, mausers and such
Things we Can never enjoy here, something called ‘fun’

I’ll have to ask the bro in law, it’s in his desk drawer loaded and ready to go, as they say over there45 win mag was an automatic pistol round.
What is a drum?
So did the in laws girlfriend shoot the cylinder full of an automatic cartridge in single action or double action?I’ll have to ask the bro in law, it’s in his desk drawer loaded and ready to go, as they say over there
Drum - cylinder.
It was a double for sure, and a 45, but will check spec with the brother in law. The shooting was the spectacular bit!So did the in laws girlfriend shoot the cylinder full of an automatic cartridge in single action or double action?
No no, did she shoot it double action or single? It was a double for sure, and a 45, but will check spec with the brother in law. The shooting was the spectacular bit!
Double action I believe, didn’t need cocking each shot.No no, did she shoot it double action or single?
Common 45 cal revolver cartridges are;
45 Colt, often wrongly called long Colt.
45, Schofield, rare.
45 auto rim.
45 ACP, but needs moon clips.
Then you have 45 Casull and 460 S&W, they are magnums. The Casull is usually in sa revolvers.
The 45 Colt originally was built around black powder, hence it's size.Double action I believe, didn’t need cocking each shot.
Perhaps it was a 45 colt… have a spent case here somewhere I brought back, I’ll try and find it!
For those that still can...
Yup, But only when in Poland.
That's gonna take some explaining to the insurance and auto glass man!

Yep, that's a whopper.I apologise!!
Completely wrong, wasn’t a 45 mag! But I do know it was his classic cylinder/drum revolver with no need to cock on each shot.
Here’s the picture of the spent case head I brought back
