Update. If anyone is passing M1 J21 at Leicester I have about thirty plus factory Remington 150 grain cartridges that can be had for 65p each (that's £13 for twenty and pro rata) collected with valid FAC for the calibre and space in the relevant table. If anyone is intereste PM me and I'll look and count how many I do actually have.

I sat out for boar on an overlooking high seat at a local water puddle/wallow that was showing regular boar visits from 7-10:30pm., the ground was black rather than dried out as we have not had rain for a while and there were many hoof prints in the mud so those were my indicatiors. At 9pm I heard a lot of activity but from the right side, the wallow is to my left then three boar of a good size around 30-40kgs started shuffling around the base of the high seat (that is a big buzz I will tell you) they then moved over to the wallow but I could not get a shot as the IR was blotting out due to the foliage, I use a Pard 007 12mm lens so no shot could be taken and they moved away. Oh well it is not too cold and there is a clear sky with a bright halfmoon so I decided to stay there. Then boooger me at 10pm again from the right side a sounder of mum plus six Frishling and a couple of ueberlaufers arrived and worked there way over to the wallow I eventually between the bushes managed to get a shot at a Frischling which dropped on the spot and the sounder moved on relative slowly.
I left it near the high seat to be able to find it this morning as the S&B 150 grain .270 bullet had blown it totally apart.
It was all in all a good night out last night.
If im honest I shot a 115kg boar with my .243 with 70grain ballistic tips and it dropped on the spot I'll admit all the other boar ive ever shot where with a .308 of some sort but if your shooting them from a high seat you'll have no problem with any 130gr soft point or ballistic tip just makes use they are accurate and you know where you want to put it
