Which thermal monocular?

HikMicro Condor CQ35L 2.0. Or, Pulsar Oryx XG35 LRF.

I was hoping to get a hands on feel for the above models at the stalking show but I'm now unable to go.
I would like to ask if anyone has any real life experience of the above models. I'm currently using my old Helion xq38, works okay in good conditions but any bit of humidity and it falls off, I'm in the peak district so it's not the driest!
I'm mainly solo and on foot so try and keep weight and equipment to the minimum.
How do they compare in humid conditions?
General Performance and ease of use?
In the hand feel and use?

Cheers

I am in the exact same position, with the same unit currently.

Planning to buy at the Stalking Show. I am attracted to the one handed focus offered by both. Leaning towards the Hik because of the auto-off feature and marginally better resolution. I bet the Pulsar feels better built, has better battery life and is possibly a bit more compact. We'll see. I doubt it will be drizzling inside the Stalking Show hall though, so interested to hear people's real world experience.

I've used a Pulsar Axiom for years, and it's now WELL out of date! I recently went to Scott Country at Dumfries, as they carry a number of different makes and I could look at all of them in one place. Very interesting morning! I looked at the Pulsar Oryx first and was shocked at how heavy it was - that finished it for me. I also looked at the various models from HikMicro and Nocpix. They were all impressive, and really, it comes down to what you use it for, and budget. I finished up coming away with a Nocpix - it's about the same size and weight as my ancient Axiom and is easy to use, but has a laser range finder and offers dramatically better performance.

Which Nocpix did you buy ??

Pulsar Axion for me. Just bought the XG35. Really chuffed. Service and parts support far better in my opinion, especially if you bought through a recognised agent. Simpsons for me. When we finally admit we're at war with China, EU built units far more likely to get spares and repairs.

Whilst not had hands on yet for a 35 (have used the 19mm). I can't see why the Lynx LQ35s won't be superseding the Condors and other 35mm 640 sensor units.

At £1700 to boot... Some 20% less than the condor, but with the same specs. Depends what shape you prefer I guess...

There is an axion xg35 LRF for sale on classifieds now. Has warranty. Looks mint and good value. Word of advice...DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU GET DEALER'S ORIGINAL PROOF OF PURCHASE from the vendor. Without that, Pulsar will not honour warranties etc.

For what its worth, I rarely adjust focus on my pulsar. I just set it to the middle focus and leave it there.

Condor without a doubt

Lower NetD (by a long way!)
Lower base mag (better for scanning)
Cheaper batteries (by a long way!)
UK support
Cheaper.....

In stock and at the Stalking Show!
Will you have a full range of hik thermals at the show? Keen to get some hands on and maybe pick up a good deal.
Im torn between the falcon 2-0 and the condor 2-0. Most of lads I know have the falcon.

Looking at the specs the Condor 2.0 35 has a considerably wider field of view.

Have the condor 2.0 35 and very impressed. Battery life great and one handed op superb. Green pallete also less tiring on eyes, black hot great for woodland stalks

Having used a condor 2 extensively for the past few months I can concur with this, it is in one word superb, one factor which is really pleasing along with the above sentiments is the fact you can turn off all the heads up display which gives a totally interrupted viewing experience without all the clutter, pulsar take note of this.

All in it's brilliant in every respect you won't be disappointed.
