Knife review!

After 2 full seasons thought I’d better give a review of this knife.

Apart from my old butchers steel for sharpening it’s not seen a stone until just now and that’s only because I put a small ding in the blade and that buffed out nicely 👌

It’s had had a hard life do far seen well over 150ish deer of all shapes and sizes from low land hinds to yearling muntjac, apart from the reds and big fallow I use to go through the ribcage like a heathen

without a doubt the best stalking knife I’ve had to date and to be fair I’m not in a hurry to look for another.

If you google Victorinox bushcraft knive, it’s £60ish if I remember correctly and it’s bombproof, certainly a knife that won’t let you down 👌

absolute rubbish knife !

somebody once nicked the gut with one when out with me so i banned that size of knife.

literally the worst knife you can get !
What a brilliant response ... similar to calibre (or chambering) choice per chance :lol:🥰

14c28n, so steel composition equivalent to most popular steel in uk market. Grinded by machines, so geometry should perfect. 60 pounds?! Why to pay 6-7 times more for a different logo on your knife and same blade material. Shape? Can be always regrind and reshape.

Also available in green... I have sold 3 on here Victorinox Venture brilliant, I kept this one out of the other colours that I was lucky to be given for free;)

My one has only been used on 100 plus fallow and 50 plus Muntjac and a few Roe quick strop and good to go.

Victorinox you can’t beat for sharpness, longevity and even cost, I’ve used a 5” skinner for years and its only ever needed the steel to take off heads, feet and split the ribs, everyone should have one, real decent bits of kit, it could even save your steel on the gralloch blade as well 😀 this is probably why I only have a small blade in the stalking bag, all gets done back at the larder with the skinner 👍

One of the lesser known things with victorinox is the warranty.

You can drop it off free of charge at the shop or post it and they will service overall or replace FOC for you. Was in the shop on Oxford street a few weeks ago and asked the question - my Swiss military issue one is dying after a rough life so sending it off.

Wouldn't get that with other brands

The knife looks good if a bit expensive, I might try one for feel.

I have lots of knives, they all work when sharp! I sound similar to the OP in that i abuse a knife (legs, head and ribcage) so it needs regular sharpening. A scandi grind or mora is ideal for this type of torture, but sharpening a scandi does take a while. For this reason, I am increasing turning to thicker flat grinds like the subject knife, which can be sharpened with a lansky.
