What's better than.....

Very nice! is that the M-1C or D? I have never shot a scoped M-1 I would love too but no one I know has one, should be interesting.

Thank you. It is a M1D, and the scope is extremely clear, given its age. As we are in the UK, they are straight pull rifles, not semi-auto but you still get the PING when the en bloc ejects! These were built by the Italians in the 1950s for the Danish military.

In my youth a friend's father had a lettered from Springfield Armory national match model with the famed star gauge barrel in those days I could shoot prone. At 200 yard I was able to keep 16 shots in just over 1.25 inches. We were not permitted to shoot it rapid fire, but slow fire was permitted with the instruction to clean it after. My personal M-1 is not nearly that well preserved or accurate the only use it gets these days is letting those with interest shoot a piece of history.

I competed in a 1,000 yard match at Roswell New Mexicos range with a loaner open sighted Garand from the Roswell Gun Club I came last all the others had Rem 700 type outfits with scopes.
