On the way to the highseat.

Not been to this seat in a while so best give it a go! hugging the edge of the wood ahead is the gap into the next field and the seat, a glimpse of a muntjac heading to the small wood opposite!
Picking up a bit of pace and a quick peak around the hedge to see it pulled up around 90 yds away, only choice is to get on the sticks and hope this youngster is still facing away while I set up, you need a bit of luck in stalking so I was lent a bit this evening lol
With him hung and bleeding a long wait to spot a second one moving back in the wood to my right, over time if they dont come out over the ditch they come out the other side of the hedge! it was getting late so down and back to where I shot the first one and wait. Nothing but cutting a line from the other wood was a bigger muntjac on a bit of a mission, I knocked off some yards to change the angle of a potential shot and waited. No game dealer shot as this lad was not stopping first time he is close to square on off will go the round.
The size difference is quite noticeable with him at 11.9kg dressed!

Hi Tim, Do you process the munties for friends & family or take them to the dealers?
Our local dealers pay bugger all for muntjac, so not worth taking them in, I'd rather use them and give the dogs a bit of proper meat sometimes.

The fuel/chiller running also the shot placement sometimes is the limiting factor! Yes they all call in and leave with a bag full.
Fallow are the best in my opinion for the Game Dealer but I do chop up a coupe a year for farmers.
