Was thinking of ordering a zero press so don't know whether to go ahead with it as no one in the uk has any in stockYes and yes. They use UPS who will demand all sorts of unnecessary paperwork, and you will pay import duty, VAT on both the duty and the shipppng, and a UPS handling charge.
They’re very good, but expect UPS to add a couple of weeks whilst they ask you to fill out forms. Was thinking of ordering a zero press so don't know whether to go ahead with it as no one in the uk has any in stock
Thanks for taking the time and your help much appreciated this is what it is on check outThey’re very good, but expect UPS to add a couple of weeks whilst they ask you to fill out forms.
Then expect 4% import duty, 20% VAT and 15% handling charge
So a £90 item with £10 shipping becomes
£100 x 1.04 =£104.00
£104 x 1.2=£124.80
£124.80 x 1.15=£143.52
In my experience it’s about 50% on top typically, are you happy to pay that? Thanks for taking the time and your help help this is what it is on check out
I see what you mean that's a lot of money on topIn my experience it’s about 50% on top typically, are you happy to pay that?
I’d you are, job done. But $700 on top of what you’re already paying is a lot![]()
I did email them today but have not got a reply as yetI have ordered a couple of small items directly from them, and queried their postage. They were very responsive and found an alternative, cheaper shipping option.
I bought some mounts direct from 419 and UPS did mess me about with forms etc. But.. I paid zero duty or handling.
Check the HS code 419 use when exporting the press as this will tell you what % of duty to expect when it enters the UK.
I am guessing... That because they didnt know what it was to start off (tried to tell me it was ITAR regulated, then that it fell under RIF - Relalistic Imitation Firearm) and that I just sent the forms back stating it wasnt and was clear on what it was and why I was importing it. That in the end they they didnt know what commodity code to assign it and therefore after all the delays and back and forth just cleared it and sent it on it's wayInteresting, the last thing I bought was rail for my CZ and paid everything![]()
Nope, they did exactly the same to me, claimed it was ITAR, then the ridiculous “RIF” formI am guessing... It's painful isn't it. You can see why people are wary of ordering from the US. Which is a shame as the exchange rate sometimes make things there a bargainNope, they did exactly the same to me, claimed it was ITAR, then the ridiculous “RIF” form
