Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum which was recommended to me by Paul Pritchard following my first stalk with him. A genuine gentleman with a huge amount of knowledge and an obvious love for deer - a fantastic introduction to deer stalking.
I've held a shotgun certificate for years and regularly shoot both game and clays. I also have a little .17 HMR which I use for vermin control on a smallholding.
I'm keen to become more involved in sourcing my own food, particularly meat, and deer stalking feels like a natural next step in that journey. I’ll soon be applying for a variation in my FAC to allow me to hold a deer calibre, and I’m booked onto a DSC1 course in July this year.
I'll be keeping an eye on the classifieds for bits of kit, learning as much as I can from the wealth of knowledge on here and hopefully contributing something useful myself over time.
