If only all motors could be simple to fix as they were in Ford Anglia/Cortina/old Landy times . Paying a lot more now for a lot less qualitiy
No you’re not.
Remember parking your motor in pmo and finding it impossible to start 10 minutes later?
How about the pistons threatening to pop through the bonnet at normal motorway speed?
How about the steering that included half a turn of slack, the free rust package included during assembly and the leaky windshield?
The good old days my arse.
The golden age of cars is around about 25 years ago. Most of the reliability and corrosion issues were solved and we didn’t have the dependence on electronics that makes modern motors so unreliable.
I’d love an old 95 - 05 Land Cruiser or a G Wagon, diesel, automatic, long wheelbase, but Jesus are they expensive.
I had the Land rovers, but I wouldn’t go back, maybe a P38 in racing green with all the bells and whistles and the BMW 2.5 diesel? Or an old classic Rangy with the 4.2 V8?
I either have a very short memory or Im a card carrying masochist, all the tools are still in the garage..
