This rusty old model 50 was thrust in my hands and told to see if I can do anything with it.
I wirewooled the rust and repaired the scope rail.
Whilst I've had it it's really grown on me and I always wanted one so for 75 notes I'm going to adopt it. It's got a lovely trigger and a nice smooth cocking and firing cycle.
I've been printing some lovely groups off hand with it but I get regular flyers so I think I'll give the muzzle a polish just incase is got a burr.
Made in 1982 and still going strong.

Today it's shot eight farm pests.

Really nice rifles. I love the one Diana's and Originals. I have a nice model 45 with an Original 2.5x20 scope on it. Great fun and accurate.
Enjoy

Do you mind if I ask what the scope is on top?

It's a Leopold m3. A good friend from Canada sent it to me.
Very nice. I have an m8 6x42 European on my 22lr.

I like a little low mag scope on a springer. I've got an old simmons wtc 1.5-5x20 on the hw35, although it stays at 3x.

Do you bother re-parallaxing scopes like that when you put them on the air rifles?

IMG_20260606_080817_NV.webpIMG_20260606_080757_NV.webp@Smellydog, herewith my Original 50. My underlever appears to be different to your one. Any ideas why?
Agreed on it being a lovely rifle, it's the only air rifle I've owned for 25 years, accurate especially with Hobby pellets,177 calibre.

I don't know much about them but understand the type 01 was to bring the power up with a slightly longer stroke or heavier spring 🤷.
The rear cross bolt on mine has plastic fittings!!!! And it's been buggered up by someone. I can see me possibly one day making new fittings.
Must add, the under lever is longer on the 01 as well.

I have adjusted px on some in the past yes. I haven't this one though. Maybe I should!

I did the crown last night.
Under a strong glass I could see a tiny ding so hopefully it will only be better.
