I looking for a mod for my sporter profile 24" 6.5cm. I want the lightest and shortest mod for it as to not unbalance the gun and keep additional length to a minimum.

Has any direct experience of the new UTC mods, namely the 231 and 131 models?

I have a 131 on a 7x57R kipplauf and it keeps the rifle nimble. Suppression is entirely adequate.

In an ideal world I could try the both on the end of the gun. Im guessing the 131 wouldn't be noticeable and the 231 only slightly.....

I've written a lot about F&D mods on here over the years, this is one of the latest:


I had erosion issues with a F&D FW196 (manufacture replaced at a sizeable discount) but I still have a similar aged FW149 that shows no signs of wear, period I do home load and always try to ensure 100% powder burn in barrel and have been meticulous in drying them out after use, bore-snaking and then spraying with Napier SilenSave.

Back to the OP's question: I run a UTS131 on a Tikka T3X 20"...

I use a freyr and devic 196 on my 223. I hardly noticed it's there.

Been happy with my 131. No complaints or issues.
