I am a little out of touch with the gun trade these days..I am getting to the age where I will be letting my guns go, as I know longer use them..
AYA No:2 Side Lock owned from new by my father.
AYA No:$ Boxlock owned from new by my father.
William Evans Boxlock No:2 of a pair, only have the one gun.
Baikal bramble basher..

Hello, Number 2 £500 to £750, Number 4 £250 to £400 , The Evans depending on condition/ Cased and chokes for steel shot, Also chamber length, £750 to £1000 , Baikal £25

All 12g? A 16 would be far more interesting All depends on condition, wall thickness, ejector or extractor, originality / LOP, blacking state, chambers lengths, etc.

The market is not great IMHO, most English guns at Holts are now heading to wealthy collectors in the US.

My last purchased AYA is stunning and cost £650 at a dealer for example, and I over paid

Can I ask which model of AYA you bought?

I would say this is somewhere near bang on the money for the AyA and Baikal.

You'll see dealers put them up for much more, but (in my opinion) they are out of touch or greedy (or the gun is simply not very old).

The Evans depends on grade too (You can often tell by looking at the fences and wood of the stock).

Unfortunately, as someone else has said, many English sxs are just being syphoned off to the USA.

SXS market is very slow. couple of years back bought a no4 for 100 quid (inc premium) at auction in nice condition. Local auction priced a good yeoman (very tight hardly used with nice grain) at 50 quid.

There's been some good advice given.
As per site rules, can you please state some prices against the guns

Best wishes

My Yeoman (one of the rare ejector versions) sold a few years ago for £65 hammer price. The same auctioneer is listing non-ejector Yeomans at £10-20 estimates now. ☹️

My RFD wouldn't even take my best grade Lewis SxS 12g gun as part exchange, and it is a stunning very little used gun. I was thinking of selling to the USA but not sure how to go about it.

Or put it into your local auction house - the Stroud one had numerous American bidders at the last sale.

What ever price are gun is advertised for, is not what it is worth, but what it's not worth, that's why it's still for sale... That is taking for granted it's been advertised fully for over a week. Side by sides have the kiss of death on them that's why so many traditional gun smiths and retailers are going out of business so as ever, always a good time to buy, but increasingly hard times to sell.. Any thing else is speculation from people who aren't actually buying, but are key board valuers...
