Time for an upgrade from the old zeiss

The time had finally come for a new scope on the .308 estate rifle.

The old Zeiss had served us well, but with modern digital night vision moving on so quickly, we wanted to see what was now available that could offer both a strong daytime image and the added benefit of night-time performance.

Thanks to a few local dealers kindly lending us different scopes to test, we were able to compare a handful of models properly and get a real feel for what suited the rifle best.

After spending time behind them, the Pard Night Stalker 4K EX stood out as the clear choice. Out of the scopes we tried, it gave the closest feel to a true glass image, which made it much easier to get on with straight away.

For an estate rifle, the scope needs to be practical, clear and dependable. First impressions of the Night Stalker 4K EX are very promising, and now it is time to get it set up properly and see how it performs where it matters most — out in the field.file_00000000f7987243899a843580d87d07.webp

Interested to hear what the comparisons were and how you get on with it once set up. 👍

Had an Alpex 4K LRF for a year and while superb, at over 1kg it was a bit of a lump to carry on a 3 mile bimble.

In the market for a lighter weight option so look forward to updates on how it performs. 👍

Did you try the Alpex 4k, if you did id be interested to see why you thought the Pard was a better option.
yes tried the 4k and the pro also had the new Nocpix but decided on the pard because its lighter and has a better image quality with the better screen and no need for carrying an IR torch adding extra weight and bulk for a gunbag when driving around at night as Mr Policeman does not like a rifle on show laying on the car seat when not in use
