How did the 6x base magnification work with the pard007 ? I use a Leupold that also starts at 6x and have been wanting to try a pard 007 but thought that 6x base mag on the scope would be too high to use with the pard.

You would be making life difficult with a very narrow field of view by using such a high base mag, especially if your shots are at average CF nighttime ranges, maybe if you were to be stretching the capabilities of the Pard007, it might sort of work.
I'd go for 2x - 3x base mag on the scope. I use 2.5-15x56 Delta Titaniums with a Pard007, but my average shot is 75 - 200 yards.
I did once shoot a fox at just under 400 yards with a 4-16 x 44 Hawke Vantage and Pard007 combo. I could see it as clear as day, Pbirl illuminator.

I find it fine was the scopes main use. I now use thermal . I have the same scope in 8-32x 56 also

I had one , worked very well with the pard and the picture quality was excellent.
