Hello pw7x57,

Can you tell us a little more about the little fellow and where you snapped it?

Looks like a 'dik dik ' to me
small african antelope that grows to around 15-16 inches i think
and about 11-12 lbs in weight
only the males hav horns

Smallest Deer

Sorry all should have put something down. Yes it is a Dik Dik, photo was taken in 2006 whilst on safari in Kenya and Tanzania. It was my second trip there with my partner and wish we could go back again cause we love the place.

Great photos guys. How much smaller can they get? I wonder if anyone has pictures of a deer giving birth? Now that would be something. No cheating and using some other persons pictures or videos. No farmed, just wild if that's possible and all your own work.
A Really good stalk that one. (If possible).

Thanks for the info Stone. That really is small. I did a trip down through Thailand and Malaya last year and didn't see anything like that. Just goes to show you there are things out there we will never catch sight of.
Just a thought though, there would not be much left of the little thing, for the table, if the boys on here with their larger calibre rifles (nothing wrong with them before we have eruptions ) could have a go.

A saying I have always told people who do not see things. LOOK WITH YOUR EARS AS WELL AS YOUR EYES YOU WILL SEE A LOT MORE.
In other words if you hear something, LOOK.

Thanks again for the info. One to look out for on my travels.
Paul
