Pinks

I've given up guessing. Winter of 2009-10 they arrived late and it was one of the worst winters for years.
i hear people saying the mountain ash are full of berries and just about every other fruiting tree is laden so we should expect a bad winter....others say it's just it was a good spring!

The grouse keepers yesterday reckond the grouse were about 2 weeks early in packing up.
Have heard some pinks moving down for last week or 2 but just odd skiens, not big numbers yet

I think last year was a good berry year too and i predicated a hard winter which never came.
I used to beleive "the more haws the more snaws" theory that it indicates a hard winter and natures provding for itself
But the good spring/summer theory also makes sense so god know's

Had 4 come in at an evening flight in Perthshire on Thursday, seen a few skeins heading south last week no big numbers tho.
