Well I had a call from the local doctors after being checked over 2 days ago saying that I may have an issue that the surgeon may have to look at,

Ffs, this is the last thing I need, I found the fluid in the knee was rather a lot and so asked to get it checked out and sure enough they called to say I may have to go back in, I'm just waiting to go back to the local surgery and I'll know after that appointment

Not to happy, did anyone who has had the same op have this type of post op problems

Bob

:(

Not had the same op Bob but I do hope that all goes well and you manage a full and speedy recovery.

Hi bud,

Cheers for that, I'm just a bit miffed, got my drone pro back ready to nv up the Tac 20 again and the 243 is all set up again ready to do a nice stalk with the new knee and a newish bit of land nd this crops up,

I hope it's just a drain and get back to physio and ice :)

The wife is going through it at the moment infection introduced during the op its on the metal so antibiotics no good only solution remove the joint for three months cure the infection and replace with another joint just hope yours is not as bad good luck with it

Bob remember that he who shouts loudest gets heard first! Don't be parmed off! Get back to see the surgeon if possible - he will have more clout than local GPs.

This sounds very much what my father in law had.
they opened it all back up removed the replacement flushed it all out with antibiotics, covered it all with antibiotics then put it all back together again, he was then kept in on an antibiotic drip until they were happy with the levels in him that he could leave with a bucket of antibiotics he could take himself.
not ideal best of luck.

cheers

Sorry to say had similar problems ,got infection whilst in hospital .Had antibiotics pumped into me . New knee didnt work so back on Tramadol and BuTrans patches was told 16 out of 100 dont work BEST OF LUCK

Cheers lads,

Happyto say blood cultures and tests done, all clear seems I have suffered a bleed below the kneecap and combined with the normal repair fluid the body produces has caused the knee to swell to a couple of times it's normal size,

Just happy it's not infected,

:) Maybe just maybe I'll have the best right knee that Europe has to offer for sale real soon :)

bob,

Now Bob if you can get them to spread the infection to nether regions keep the swelling but get rid of any pain you could diversify into porn films

Hi Geordie.

Thats a cracking idea mate, not sure how this would go down at the current job position but I think it's worth a try,

:)

Can be a reaction to the pain killers.
Some of them, like Naproxin, Ibuprofen, and some of the hydocodone blends contain a mild steroid, so you can retain fluids, or have a reaction which makes your retain fluids in an entirely different area than the wound.
