This Mornings Stalk

Out this morning with Rotwild on a piece of ground we share up north and what a fantastic morning to be out ,we climbed the first hill and waited for the light to improve while the dawn chorus sounded all round us whilst sill keeping eyes on the nearby woodland for signs of Roe.After half an hour of seeing everything bar deer we decided to move down to the woodland edge where we saw plenty of slots but again no deer,a change of plan was called for.

We decided to move across a large patch of open ground to reach some more woodland but stopped to glass behind us again which was a wise move as a buck suddenly appeared as they do , a quick move behind a bank gave me time to get the .243 on the sticks and take a nice steady shot at the buck which had obligingly stopped broadside at 100 yards.
