  9. First Sika Stag

Nice beast you have there. Hopefully more will follow!
  10. New boots, what to buy?

Mendl douve extreme, excellent boot, no problems. The le chameau boots I find a little soft!
  11. Scotland dva

Fair points, Never thought of it that way. Pitiliedon, I can't comment on how dcs used that data but agree it should be looked at area specific.
  12. Scotland dva

Two DVAs are what are known about and what can be recorded. How many crashes are there where the car is wrapped around a tree in a rural road with no real explanation? Just because only 2 fatalities had deer found at the side of the road doesnt meaning there has only been 2 DVAs. Taken from...

    Nice photographs, keep them coming.
  14. Meindl Dovre Extreme GTX

Amazing boots, cant fault them. Dubbin regular seems to keep them in good shape. No problems with the Dovre leaking but have had problems with Glockner in the past.
  15. Define 'Cross-Contamination'????

    Agree with this post!
  16. No signs of the Rut

Full on in Perthshire. Last weekend watched a buck mount a doe and found roe rings in another area. In total 3 bucks chasing does were seen that morning.
  17. Boots

+1 for the meindl douvre extreme. Also agree with Norma 308 about the half size extra, although the boots are wide they definitely are tight lengthways.
  18. Are there fallow in Galloway?

As mentioned above, two populations in D and G, newton Stewart/Cree area and Rae hills.
  19. Opinions please - Genetics in Deer

I think its definetly genetics. As jamross has said, I have also known Sika stags, Red stags and Roe bucks to carry this trait that can be measured over the years, all usually from a small localised area. To go further into genetics there are some good contacts at Edinburgh University that has...
  20. Summer stalking trousers

Agree with Glendine, although the G-1000. Range is expensive, they are brilliant trousers. I wear them whenever I go stalking from April-september. Then the heavier duty trousers are on.
