  1. Forgive me if you've already done this...

Here's a useful video you can share too...
  2. Forgive me if you've already done this...

I suspect many of you are members of more shooting groups than I am, so feel free to share, time is short if we want this to send a proper message to Government.
  3. Forgive me if you've already done this...

The response to the ePetition on .22 Target Pistols from the shooting community has been apathetic, so I'm trying to rectify that... Here's the link to make it easy http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/62588 We have less than a week to go, please make the effort if you haven't already.
  4. Van Full Of Badgers....

Ha, 'what happened to the badgers', one of the protesters remarked... At a guess, they knew nothing about it, since they were dead already.
  5. Private Parking Companies... Fighting back!

You should apply for that to be removed from your credit history on the grounds that it has been applied illegally. The 'contract' for a parking charge is established between the driver of the car, and the parking company, not the owner or keeper of the car. In law they have no right to demand...
  6. I guess thats the end of that then.

Thank you for all the responses, but I note that despite someone stating the information was already 'out there' with the implication that I should look, I am still none the wiser, until now. I will not reveal who was kind enough to let me know the shooting standard, but very much appreciated...
  7. I guess thats the end of that then.

Well, I've read this entire thread, and I've still not seen the standard described for the shooting test. So what grouping was required at what distance, and was this test also done at night in a field? Until we know what the standard was, and whether anyone struggled to pass it, and the pass...
  8. Hand gun vote - Daily mail!

Reloading time is the only thing I can think of. However, anyone bent on such dastardly deeds might not need more than six shots, or if holding two pistols, 12 shots, ad infinitum...
  9. Federal 6.5x55 in Shropshire

Looking at their website, they sell the bullets, primers, and powder, but not the cases or cartridges, so I'd ring them first before visiting.
  10. Stop the LACS getting £1000 over the Royal British Legion

With about 3 1/2 days to go (vote ends at 12 noon on 1st Jan), looks like LACS is going to win it, I voted for Royal British Legion, might only be £1000 but the kudos of beating 9 other charities in the vote will be exploited, and will give them the legitimacy they just don't deserve.
  11. New firearms application forms by 1st December

As regards the 4 pictures, this isn't new, when I made my coterminous application in December 2012, West Mercia only required 4 pictures.
  12. Not good...

This appears to be an image shown around the Internet on Facebook, not sure whether it is a fake. Having scanned the QR Code, it appears to point to a different page A/CN.10/L.70, which deals with Nuclear Disarmament, so either this is a fake, or the UNODA document, as a restricted...
  13. ? changes at West Mercia ?

It seems West Mercia are dare I say it...'jumping the gun' with this new policy The Home Office is now working in earnest on producing the long awaited new edition of the Guidance. Drafts of the chapters that have so far been updated and revised have been circulated to shooting organisations...
  14. ? changes at West Mercia ?

Seems its a grey area Guidance for GPs on applications for firearms licencesThe BMA has had further meetings with ACPO and the ICO to discuss the letters being sent from the Police to GPs to enquire whether there is any medical information that might have a bearing on the individual’s...
  15. ? changes at West Mercia ?

The full nonsense is here Declaration of Medical ConditionsHaving a medical condition of any kind does not preclude you from possessing a firearm. However any physical or mental condition that may affect your ability to possess and use firearms safely should be declared. This includes, for...
  16. DMQ Level 2

Interesting, I just wonder why my certificate number, for DMQ1, only recently issued is between 20,300 and 20,400? Seems odd as which ever way you consider they might number these certificates, it doesn't seem to add up.
  17. LDV Vans.

They must have improved them a lot then, I last drove them as Ambulances in either V8 or Diesel (the service couldn't decide which), the V8s were unreliable and required a refuel after 100 miles, although would do 115mph when they actually worked. The diesels were gutless, and the vibrations...
  18. Ladders, trees, chain-saws and a nasty accident.

OS Grid Reference training used to be a part of the six week Ambulance Aid Course, and in Shropshire we always had OS Maps in the cab, maybe they rely too much on Sat Navs these days. Back in the day we had to learn our area around the Ambulance Station, then when dynamic cover was introduced...
  19. Lock Knife Legal Carry E Petition

The wife was a Scout Leader up until about 4 years ago, and the Scouts were legally allowed to carry a knife when using it for a task that required them, we always advised these lads, 10 and a half to 15 years old, that they should buy either a fixed blade in a sheaf or a lockable folding blade...

Knock yourselves out, have you noticed that every time you visit the page you can undertake yet another vote, hardly a vote we can hold up to scrutiny, but still a useful indicator.
