    Transport for the stalker?

+1 for a vehicle with no electronics to go wrong. I don't trust electronics on cars. I've been accused of being a luddite. But, as someone who used to design them, I think I have earned a right to be cynical! If you want something bigger, how about a forward control land rover, with something...

I thought that was after Cardiff football club, offered to organise her flights?

    Vile Corbyn

Someone at the range offered to let her lodge at his house. As he would be sure to have his own personal special branch man sat outside for ever. A nice tick in the box when it comes to renewing the FAC! Looks like even their own MPs are waking up, finally. I'm sure they are just letting him...

    Head Torch

My personal requirements are: Must use standard batteries/cells. Usually AAA. So you can carry spares and obtain them pretty much anywhere. And change them out in an instant. Must have a very low intensity white light and ideally also a red. As much of the time, you don't need or want the high...

    Moderators

You can build one for an airgun without any issues, but not for a firearm, where you need to authority to possess. You may do pretty much anything that an RFD can do, as long as it is for private use. (There are some exceptions, such as shortening a barrel/,gun length, below legal length, even...

    Wanted: Beginner reloading kit

I would look for a basic single stage bench mounted press. It really is going to make the job far simpler and controlable. Some of the Lee ones look a little cheap, but will be ok if you are not giving them a hammering. I usually recommend getting something like an RCBS/Redding etc. as it will...

"If you wish to terminate your BT internet press 2" New scam I haven't heard before.

Most calls that I get from an unknown number, I will answer without saying anything. If I can hear nothing on the far end, I just give it a few seconds. Usually the line clears. As the automated dialing system is waiting for you to talk, and then it routes you to someone who wants to sell you...

    Vacuum Packer

I found the lidl one great for dry goods. But with meat, it was difficult to stop the liquids getting drawn into the bonding area and having difficulty getting a seal. Any tips anyone?

    Noob rifle and calibre recommendations

I was refused a ALQ variation in Dorset last year. After passing DSC1 and having a booked stalk. They would only recognise a writtem permission to shoot over land. I could have asked the guide for that, but they have so much land (management company) that the actual stalk location is pretty much...

"If you wish to terminate your BT internet press 2" New scam I haven't heard before.

I quite enjoy wasting their time. If it's not costing me anything. The last one I had was claiming to be TalkTalk support after 'you have virus on your computer, we detect it on our server'. I had just made a cuppa, it was a quiet saturday morning, so I strapped in and went for it. Kept them on...

Do I have to pay my GP re FAC renewal in Thames Valley?

Expect it's more of the 'make it up as you go along' mess?

Do I have to pay my GP re FAC renewal in Thames Valley?

That is possible. Information I had was that the initial letter was a form letter from the BMA, used by doctors in response to the initial enquiry. And it is this that I have seen used on the initial enquiry. I was not aware of a tick box form. Is that issued by the police to the doctors?

Do I have to pay my GP re FAC renewal in Thames Valley?

I believe that the HO guidence is, that in the event of their being a declared medical condition, that the applicant could be charged for the initial letter. But subsequent reports would be paid for by the police. This is unchanged by the pilicy change (to always request an initial letter), in...

Legally held guns which are used in criminal activity - How and how many

Crimes in statistics may include suicides and even paperwork/licencing issues. For example we had someone locally charged for having expanding 22lr, without a permission, before the law changed.

.17 HMR Effective range against fox

A friend had a free range chicken farm. He asked me for a recomendation for a fox calibre, which I suggested 243win. The police declined this as being too powerful, and gave him a slot for a 17HMR. After long argument, they finally gave him a slot for a 223rem. Though in the meantime, he did...

    Who knows about my FAC

On the subject of landlords, they should not have access to the guns. Ideally not to the cabinet. So you may need to negotiate any access rights that they may have in the contract. ie, having a set of keys and unrestricted access for inspections and tradesmen.

    Who knows about my FAC

And anyone who sees you come from a range/club/shoot, who could follow you home. We have not had a major breech of the police computer systems yet. That will be one to watch the news for. (From my general experience of IT, it's not case of if someone gets hacked, it's when. Or If it's even...

    Firearms safety

The RFDs may have cleared the guns, and not even have any ammunitionpellets at the show. But it doesn't stop someone popping something into the chamber. Even a blank, with the aim (pun) of creating a bit of anti publicity. So checking a chamber on every change of hands would be very prudent. I...

    Firearms safety

Certainly in a club environment it would be easy to do. And clubs could offer to do an assessment for external shooters. But, if making it a legal requirement, it would need to be a formally recognised qualification. And that would add just another level of complication and yet another fee's issue.
