  5. Masks, what are they good for? - very little apparently. November 2020 Dan-19 study reviewed by Oxford Prof Heneghan

Agreed, if found negative certainly should stop. Alan
  6. Masks, what are they good for? - very little apparently. November 2020 Dan-19 study reviewed by Oxford Prof Heneghan

Simple mathematics/data? Any trapping of virus in a face covering reduces the amount of virus available to infect...if it is in the fabric of a mask it is not in somebody else's lungs. No what-ifs required. That it is a reduction is not moot. Being infected when handling your mask is not a...
  7. Masks, what are they good for? - very little apparently. November 2020 Dan-19 study reviewed by Oxford Prof Heneghan

I do see the hazards you are getting at, but I just do not see the risks as anything like equivalent. Presumably the only infectious people likely to be in a public place are asymptomatic...if they are wearing a face covering the amount of virus they spread is reduced. If they do not wear a...
  8. Masks, what are they good for? - very little apparently. November 2020 Dan-19 study reviewed by Oxford Prof Heneghan

Try it...it is exactly the opposite for me... The hand rub I make up to the WHO formula contains a tad of glycerine...designed to slow down the evaporation of the alcohol to assist with disabling the virus and keep your skin moisturised....I have no idea whether the rub has actually helped...
  9. Masks, what are they good for? - very little apparently. November 2020 Dan-19 study reviewed by Oxford Prof Heneghan

Okay, so you see the touching of a communal surface without sanitising your hands afterwards as a damning of the reason to wear a face covering? How about simply seeing it as a damning of not sanitising your hands after touching a "communal" surface? It is true that with no mask their...
  10. Masks, what are they good for? - very little apparently. November 2020 Dan-19 study reviewed by Oxford Prof Heneghan

You are still thinking in terms of the mask being loaded with other people’s germs. It will be mainly ones coming out of your mouth and nose. Any bugs from others that are trapped in the mask are a definite bonus. Had you not been wearing a mask they would be already in your lungs. Alan
  11. Masks, what are they good for? - very little apparently. November 2020 Dan-19 study reviewed by Oxford Prof Heneghan

How better? It all works together to help reduce the amount of virus we could pass on. Most of the mucosal matter in either our sleeves or a face covering are going to be from the wearer...as such less expert handling of either contaminated masks or sleeves is not really an issue....the bugs...
  12. Masks, what are they good for? - very little apparently. November 2020 Dan-19 study reviewed by Oxford Prof Heneghan

The reason that the WHO and the CDC give for wearing face coverings is that they reduce the amount of bugs you pass to others when you breathe out...They help that situation by slowing down the velocity and therefore range of social distance, by deflection and by trapping a percentage.... Why...

  17. Lead ban

I didn't miss your point, I just disagree with the idea that we must defend the indefensible premise of shooting lead into food in order to somehow help preserve lead ammunition for the types of shooting where we have no alternative to lead. I think the opposite...that we should voluntarily...
  18. Advice

Prompted by @gs jon 's link to BASC, I happened to skim through their air rifle rabbit shooting advice...twice he recommended scanning the area ahead through the rifle scope...which didn't strike me as good practice... :( Alan
