Marlin Firearms Closing their Plant

Marlin Firearms is closing their New Haven, Connecticut plant where they have been located for better than a century. They are moving operations to the southern part of the country. This is a concern because Marlin had an extensive drop forging operation for their center fire rifles in Connecticut. Unless they plan on moving the operation, you could see the product line "trimmed" back to just rimfires. It is worth keeping an eye on if you have a notion to pick up a Marlin lever rifle for hunting.

Marlin is owned by Remington and I see this as another indication that Remington is on the downward spiral as well. ~Muir

You bugger, Muir!

I'd just talked myself out of a .45-70 or a .444 but, being the bargain grabber that I am, I'm all up for it again now.
