    Remington 700 twist rate

    Hi everyone,

can anyone tell me what twist rate is in the Remington 700 .223 VS variant please? I need at least a 1 in 9 for the ammunition I use.

    Thanks

The 'Tactical' 700 models are 1-9" - 700P 'Police', SPS Tactical and suchlike. Heavy-barrel sporting variants - VS, VSSF, SPS Varmint and standard barrel profile sporters are all 1-12".

So anyone recommend a gunsmith to fit a reasonably priced 1 in 9 barrel to a 700, I have looked with no luck, Fox firearms looked good but couldn't do a heavy barrel...

    Anyone???

Sell it and buy a 1-8" Tikka. Accuracy without the fuss.~Muir

I already have a Norman Clark Shilen barrelled Sako .223, this is just my 'everyday' rifle, have AICS stock for it already, have open ideas as long as based on a 700 action
